Know the distance you hit your clubs.
The majority of golfers do not know how far they hit each club and will usually end up taking a club less and hitting it as hard as they can which results in a wayward shot.
GPS devices are not just for telling you the distance to the front, middle or back of the green, they also have a ball mode that when you go to the practice ground you can find the distance you hit each club and help you to select the correct club when you're on the course.
SkyCaddie and GolfBuddy offer a very wide range of options from a basic model showing distances to a full hole view showing all hazards.
We are also a stockist of the New TomTom GPS watch.
If you would like to find out more pop in and let us talk you through them.
Warmer hands with Motocaddy
The winter mitts that Motocaddy have added to their accessory range are a must on the cold winter mornings. They are designed to give easy access to the on/off and speed control button. A great Christmas present at only £19.99.
We know some of you struggle to get your golf in when winter rolls around but if you need your fix, head to the range with these helpful tips.
Firstly, try to focus.
Hitting balls aimlessly is a common mistake that can cause more harm than good. Instead, pick small targets on the range that replicate the kind of shot you'll face on the course.
Secondly, use clubs you're not so confident with.
How much better will you feel out on the course with your 4-iron if you've spent time hitting shots with it on the range?
Finally, make notes.
Today it's all about iPads and Apps, but a pen and paper will do. Not enough people take the time to record their performances and identify areas they can work on. It's good for the confidence and gives a real sense of purpose to your range time.
